When the doctor couple came to us with an intent of building a simple, elegant, independent house for their family in Vasanthpura neighborhood of Bangalore South on a 30 x 40 feet BDA-BBMP West facing plot, the vision was to create a humble, graceful expression in form(design) and in spirit(sustainable).
The project showcases an alluring stone-clad elevation, punctuated by expansive windows that invite the outdoors in, marrying simplicity with sophistication in perfect harmony. Sadrahalli stone used to weave the essence of Bangalore’s landscape into the very fabric of the home, was an aesthetic and a sustainable call . Notably, the parking layout was orchestrated to embrace and preserve a majestic tree.
Step inside, and visitors find skylights punctuating the ceiling, infusing the interiors with a soft, diffused glow that accentuates the home’s natural allure. This not only bathes the living spaces in warmth but also minimizes the need for artificial lighting, aligning seamlessly with the vision of sustainable living. Furthermore, innovative porotherm blocks were chosen to ensure optimal thermal comfort throughout the year. This residence is not just a structure; it’s a culmination of craftsmanship, sustainability, and timeless design.
The volumetric play ensures connectivity between common spaces of the floors and the private quarters of the house get a lot of natural light as well. The choice of light colored finishes palette acts as a nice backdrop to the user and lets them personalize the spaces.
